UBC Global Masters 2027 Edition

Timetable & Format:

The next edition of the UBC Global Masters Postgraduate Challenge starts on 22nd January 2027 and has a 2-round format.

Round 1 is run online via the UBC portal on the Learning Dynamics / The Simulation Space platform. Teams upload their decisions, and results are released as per the published timetable. The top teams from Round 1 go through to the Grand Final, designed as a live in-person event at a UK venue.

Key dates

• Entries open: June 2026
• Entries close: 21 January 2027

All entries will be confirmed by email progressively up to the closing date.

 Round 1 – Online: Late-January to mid-March 2027

Logins & Resources:

Educators, Team Leaders, and Team Members, including nominated team Mentors, will have access to the UBC simulation platform used in Round 1 via logins which will be provided to registered universities. All resources are made available online and can be downloaded from the simulation platform. The Team Brief and Participant Guide contain all the information necessary to take part in the UBC Global Masters.

Upload your Team Leader email addresses:

When you know your Team Leaders, you can upload their name/s and email address/es by logging into the UBC portal and selecting Manage Teams. The UBC simulation portal will automatically email Team Leaders their logins when you have submitted their details.

If you want your teams to participate in the optional Trial Trading Period (TTP),  you should upload your Team Leader details prior to the TTP commencement (please see detailed timetable below).

When Team Leaders have their logins, they input their Team Member details. The simulation platform emails Team Members their logins, so all team members have access to the simulation platform.

• Close: Tuesday 2nd February at 10.00

Trading Period One (TP1)

• Open: Wednesday 3rd February at 13.00
• Close: Tuesday 9th February at 10.00

 Trading Period Two (TP2)

• Open: Wednesday 10th February at 13.00
• Close: Tuesday 16th February at 10.00

Trading Period Three (TP3)

• Open: Wednesday 17th February at 13.00
• Close: Tuesday 23rd February at 10.00

Trading Period Four (TP4)

• Open: Wednesday 24th February at 13.00
• Close: Tuesday 2nd March at 10.00

Trading Period Five (TP5)

• Open: Wednesday 3rd March at 13.00
• Close: Tuesday 9th March at 10.00

Grand-Finalists Announcement

By Thursday 11th March 2027

Round 2 (in person):

Grand Final Late April / early May 2027

The Round 2 Grand Final is scheduled for late April / early May 2027. The top teams from Round 1 compete to be the winners of UBC Global Masters and put their university’s name on the trophy. The Grand Final date and venue will be confirmed during Round 1.

The Grand Final will be hosted and facilitated as a rich immersive experience by the UBC team with support from a range of entrepreneurs, graduate employers, and motivational speakers.

Please note: The UBC Management Team reserves the right to change the Round 2 Grand Final from in-person to a virtual event.
