The UBC is an employability skills development experience that is one of the best events you can take part in at university as rfated by by previous participants. Besides helping to develop the range of skills that employers are looking, we know from research conducted in conjunction with university enterprise departments, that the UBC also helps develop entrepreneurial skills and confidence.

A true learning experience

The Challenge is a true learning experience for all those who enter. It will help students to improve their decision-making skills, develop their team-working abilities and increase their knowledge in key business areas such as marketing, finance and production. The Challenge is not just for business studies students. It covers all faculties. Students from Information Technology, Engineering, Economics, Accounting, Law and a wide range of Arts and Science faculties have gained an invaluable understanding of the business world.

Besides the invaluable experience and prestige of progressing through the competition, you are awarded a personalised Certificate of Participation and achievement through each round of the Challenge. We know from employer, careers adviser and student feedback that participation in the UBC can really help at placement or job interview stage of your career - signalling to your potential employer that you have engaged in a challenging event that has significantly developed your employability skills and the specific competencies that employers value in graduate recruits.
