Best practice: engaging with students

The UBC is largely a co-curricular activity so why should students engage with the challenge? The number of participating teams has increased year-on-year, so the value of participation is being recognised.

The reasons are presented on this website in the About and Student Participants sections, where previous UBC participants tell their stories of how the UBC helped them improve their employability skills and prepared them for an assessment centre or job interview – and provided them with the answers to ‘behavioural’ interview questions.

Many universities who enter teams on a regular basis have found that it is helpful to invite previous UBC participants to speak personally to those interested in entering the UBC. If you require assistance from the UBC team in either providing you with the presentation materials or setting up an explanatory webinar, please contact us.

When you register teams, we will also provide you with leaflets and posters that you can circulate among faculty and other staff members – and put on notice boards.
